Prime Minister Gaston Browne has extended warm birthday wishes to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, praising his leadership and India’s growing role in global development.
In a formal letter sent Wednesday, Browne congratulated Modi on his 75th birthday, describing him as a leader whose “wisdom and well-honed intellect” have shaped the path of the world’s most populous nation.
“The world needs more Narendra Modis to inspire innovation, modernity, and new paths to development,” Browne wrote, commending India’s achievements under Modi’s leadership.
The Antiguan leader also highlighted India’s role in advancing South-South cooperation and driving the expansion of the BRICS initiative, calling it a testament to New Delhi’s global influence.
Browne expressed gratitude for India’s continued support to Antigua and Barbuda, citing the deployment of Indian medical professionals and the training opportunities offered to local Information Technology experts. He said these efforts are strengthening bilateral ties and bringing tangible benefits to the people of Antigua and Barbuda.
Looking ahead, Browne said he was eager to welcome Modi to Antigua and Barbuda during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) next year, which the twin-island state is set to host.
