The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services (ABMS) has issued a Flash Flood Advisory for the western areas of Antigua, warning of minor flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas. The advisory is in effect until 4:00 p.m. today.
According to the ABMS, light winds combined with daytime heating and available moisture have triggered periodic moderate to heavy showers across the affected regions. Rainfall of up to an inch has already been recorded in some areas over the past two hours, with another inch or more expected in the next six hours.
While property damage is expected to be minimal, residents are advised that streams, creeks, and drains may overflow into streets and vulnerable areas. Authorities caution that even shallow, fast-moving water can be dangerous; one foot of flowing water is enough to sweep vehicles off the road.
The Meteorological Services will continue monitoring the situation and provide updates as needed. Residents are encouraged to stay informed through local radio and television broadcasts and can also call 463-4638 for the latest statements.

Flash floods can be very dangerous. Praying for the safety of all residents in western Antigua.
