The National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) has officially graduated its newest group of Litter Wardens, strengthening efforts to promote cleanliness and enforce waste management regulations across the country.
At the ceremony, each graduate was awarded a certificate of achievement and an official identification badge, formally recognizing their readiness to serve.
General Manager Mrs. Indira James Henry and Permanent Secretary Mr. Colin O’Keiffe presided over the presentations, congratulating the graduates on their achievement. Both praised the wardens for their commitment during training and encouraged them to bring the same dedication to their new roles.
The NSWMA says the addition of the wardens will help improve enforcement against littering, while also supporting the Authority’s broader mission of fostering cleaner, healthier communities.

These wardens are of non effect. How you have all these wardens and the place so nasty?
I agree non effect
We don’t need more wardens we need a proper waste disposal system and stricter penalties for offenders.
Hopefully, more wardens will catch the people littering the community.
If possible, the wardens should wear body cameras ,so that in the event of any dispute when issued with a penalty, the proof is there.
This would also be effective for people who throw litter from vehicles, as the number plate will also be visible.
I wish the new wardens success. Antiguans can do better. Too much littering. Why are we like this?
What powered do they have. Our people are so disrespectful I can imagine the treatment these wardens are up against.
Hope they brace themselves for all the insults that may come their way.
