The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) Water Business Unit has advised motorists of temporary traffic disruptions along Cedar Valley Main Road this weekend, as upgrade and installation works continue.
On Sunday, 28 September 2025, the stretch of road between the Friars Hill Road junction and the Old Popeshead Road corner will be closed to vehicular traffic from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Drivers are being asked to use Old Popeshead Road as a detour to access Friars Hill Road or to continue along Cedar Valley Road.
According to APUA, the project involves the installation of new transmission lines, which will connect to the soon-to-be-commissioned 2 million imperial gallon Reverse Osmosis Plant at Shell Beach. Officials say the upgrade is part of wider efforts to strengthen the country’s water supply system.
APUA has apologised for the inconvenience and thanked the public for their patience and cooperation during the works.

Thanks for the early notice
Thanks for the notice. Road closures are frustrating, but at least it’s for something that will improve our water supply.
