Mysterious Statue on All Saints Road Sparks Curiosity and Concern

A towering statue that appeared suddenly along All Saints Road

A towering statue that appeared suddenly along All Saints Road has left residents of Antigua and Barbuda puzzled and whispering about its meaning and purpose.

The massive figure, which seems to have been erected overnight, has drawn comparisons to biblical imagery, with some suggesting it resembles the statue described in the Book of Daniel.

When Antigua.news iniquired about the image it was revealed that the person behind the imposing monument is Elder Claude Weaver of the Glorious Hope Church, located on the same road.

Elder Weaver declined to go into details but promised to provide more information about the statue’s significance in the coming days.

In the meantime, the structure has stirred both curiosity and criticism. Well-known religious leader Bishop Charles Browne questioned the timing and motive behind the installation.

“Why would anyone think it is necessary to put up an image at this time? With all that’s going on in the country and the world, I don’t know why it is necessary. It boggles my mind. Whether it is the image that King Nebuchadnezzar saw in his dream… We don’t know,” Browne remarked.

The statue itself is hard to miss. It depicts a tall human figure with a helmet-like headpiece covering the face, which bears defined eyes, nose, and lips. Its arms are crossed tightly across the chest in a gesture of strength, authority and arrogance.

The torso is sculpted to appear muscular, while the lower half is covered with a skirt-like garment. Perched high on a platform above the treetops, the statue looms over the area, with supporting scaffolding still visible at its base, suggesting it is not yet complete.

For now, the statue remains a mystery—its symbolism and purpose unknown.

As speculation swirls, residents wait to hear more from Elder Weaver, whose explanation may determine whether the monument is viewed as a beacon of faith, a piece of art, or a controversial figure on Antigua’s landscape.

    • Very symbolic. This could change a lot on how religion is seen in the caribbean once explained. Our ancestors served the god of the bible by force not suggestion. And it has been taught that is the only way of peace and salvation from back then to present day. Check the history.

  15. Well done Mr Weaver, Antigua has nothing of interest as a land mark to help create any excursion or scenery and landmarks, so this will serve the people of this country as places of interest along with tourism.
The late v.c Bird tried to do an arch as a monument at east bus station, had it been done with aluminum tubing it would have enhance our tourism project, the white people comes here and are been given out best beach from lands and only develop their little home or enclave and business for wealth extraction.
But here is something that can transform antigua to have sites of interest to visit added to our travel guide.
    Great work Mr Weaver.

    • Chupz please, no white people care about a poorly defined cheap idolic statue that an ancient babylonian king had in a dream. Firstly Antiguan tourism is not dependent on white people it is dependent on tourist of all races. Second how dare you compare this ugly statue to the statue of the great the Vere Cornwall bird who is a national hero. VC bird statue is firstly a momument to Antiguans, he took us to independence from colonialism and you have the nerve to say his statue would look better if covered in silver aluminium. You are not Antiguan whoever you are, and you certainly are no friend of God!

  16. @ Eldread: It is true that it can be used as a landmark of interest for both the locals & tourists. However, erecting a landmark of such without the nation knowing it’s meaning, certainly defeats the purpose. Is it a paganistic monument. Enquiring minds would like to know.

  22. I am surprise that people are even worried. The image is clearly out of the book of Daniel in Chapter 2. This image was what the king saw. If you read what it mean you would not be so surprise. The image shows the different stages of world powers. The head represent gold and which is Babylon thw chest of silver media Persia, belly of bronze represents Greece, legs of Iron is Rome and the last is the feet of iron and Clay where we are in world History. I believe the stone should be apart of the image which shows how God will put an end to world power and establish his eternal kingdom. Bible prophecy at its best. Stop being paranoid folks. Read the Bible and let Gods word speak.

    • I agree those comments written there by those people , they are critics not people who are curious. How about reading the whole Bible folks, not just the New Testament. About the image, read the book of Daniel.

  26. The owner of the statue doesn’t owe anybody any explanation about the statue. Antigua constitution say freedom of Religion. Antigua have the most hypocrites in the world. Why they don’t demonstrate about V.C. Bird statue, there are two statues at the entrance of the St. John’s cathedral. There are many in the catholic church and there are many in human form who call themselves pastors where their followers worship them. Leave them people statue alone. I haven’t heard any of them preaching about Satan save. They all preach Jesus saves so what is you all problem. Get a life. God man. If the pastor of that church believe in what Daniel saw or what King nebuchadnezzar saw in his dream so be it it is written in the Bible. Everybody interpret the Bible in their own way. All them bread away churches have a doctrine about why the broke away from their religion and faith
