The Antigua Yacht Club (AYC) will host the 2025 Caribbean Dinghy Championship (CDC) from October 24–26, bringing together top sailors from across the region for three days of high-level racing.
The regatta will feature six competitive classes—Optimist, ILCA 4, ILCA 6, ILCA 7, Topper Fusion (double-handed), and RS Venture (double-handed/adaptive)—offering opportunities for youth, senior, and inclusive sailors.
In preparation for the event, Dr. Clarence E. Pilgrim, Commodore of the Antigua Yacht Club, will serve as chairman of the CDC Committee to oversee its planning and execution.
Antigua enters this year’s championship as the defending Nations Cup champions, having secured victories in 2019, 2022, 2023, and 2024.
With four wins in the last five editions, Team Antigua has established itself as a dominant force in regional dinghy sailing. Racing on home waters in 2025, the national team—featuring Carrack Jones (ILCA 4), Shanoy Malone (ILCA 6), Ozani Lafond (ILCA 7), Tyden Jones (Optimist), and Jhanna and Jhamely Paredes (Fusion class)—will compete for a fifth title before a home crowd.
The 2025 CDC is sanctioned by the Caribbean Sailing Association (CSA).
This year’s event is made possible through the support of its significant sponsors—the Antigua & Barbuda Tourism Authority (ABTA) and the National Parks Authority (NPA) and other partners.
