The Caribbean Drag Racing Championship (CDRC) is revving up, with Antigua & Barbuda playing a pivotal role in this expanding regional competition. As the summer heats up, the excitement builds in anticipation of the Championship Final scheduled for early 2026 in Jamaica.

Originally launched as a four-country series comprised of Barbados, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, and Jamaica, the CDRC has now blossomed into a vibrant multi-nation event. Alongside the original members, Antigua & Barbuda, Grenada, St Lucia, and St Vincent & the Grenadines have joined the ranks, with the Cayman Islands also becoming a non-competing Affiliate Member.

Sanctioned under the FIA’s National Calendar platform, the CDRC features two performance-based categories: Pro Street Class (10.999 to 10.000 seconds) and Pro Race Class (9.999 to 9.000 seconds)

Competitors enter through an invitation from their country’s National Sporting Authority (ASN) and participate at no cost. Through an innovative format, racers accumulate points in three locally staged qualifying events, vying for one of the coveted 16 spots in the Championship Final.

Currently, 85 drivers are competing across the participating countries, with 55 in the Pro Street class and 30 in the Pro Race class. Antigua’s own athletes are gearing up to make a significant impact as the region watches closely.

In the Pro Street class, racers from Antigua are in contention, aiming to climb the leaderboard as they participate in the upcoming qualifying events. Meanwhile, in the Pro Race class, the competition is fierce, with Antiguan drivers seeking to secure their place among the top competitors.

With nine qualifying events lined up in the next nine weeks from July to September, the competitive landscape is set to shift dramatically. This pivotal summer stretch offers a crucial opportunity for Antiguan racers to earn valuable points as they aim for inclusion in the Championship Final.

The Caribbean Drag Racing Championship is not just about competition; it’s about collaboration, unity, and showcasing the dynamic spirit of Caribbean nations. For further details, sponsorship opportunities, or media inquiries, please reach out to the Caribbean Drag Racing Championship Secretariat.
