Surge in Burglaries and Thefts Leaves Police and Residents on High Alert

Police are on the hunt for a suspect following a break-in at a clothing store on Market Street earlier this week.

Investigators say the incident occurred sometime between Wednesday and Thursday, when an intruder forced their way into the business and stole an undisclosed amount of cash, along with iPhones, Samsung tablets, and several pairs of shoes.

Some of the stolen property has since been recovered and is now in police custody as the investigation continues.

Authorities are urging the public not to purchase items believed to be stolen, warning that doing so is a criminal offence.

Anyone with information about the break-in or the suspect is asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913/14 or call Crime Stoppers at 800-TIPS (8477).
