The Rotary Club of Antigua has continued its push to bridge the technology gap in education with the donation of laptop devices to several schools and organisations under its Education Through Technology Programme.

The presentation, held on October 1, saw laptops handed over to The Tiny Smiles Preschool and Daycare Centre, received by Director Deandra Cooper; New Bethel Seventh-day Adventist Academy, received by Principal Coreen Patrick; the Caribbean Council of the Blind, accepted by Carolyn Gopaul; and the Industrial Workshop for the Blind, received by Jacqueline Tweed-Harris. Additional devices were also donated to The Victory Center and Industrial Arts teacher Fitzgerald Ponde.

Representatives of the institutions expressed their appreciation, noting that the equipment will support training, professional development and greater access to digital tools for students and staff alike.

Rotary Club President Elisa Graham reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to education, describing the programme as one of its cornerstone initiatives.

“The Rotary Club of Antigua remains committed to assisting in the technological development of young minds through this hallmark programme. We are thankful to our international partners, the Bellevue Breakfast Rotary Club from Washington State, for their continued engagement in bringing together local knowledge to the needs of schools and students.” Graham said.

The Education Through Technology Programme has been a long-running effort by the Rotary Club of Antigua to expand digital access and learning opportunities across the country.
