WATCH: Major Flooding at MET Office

The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Office has been flooded as relentless rainfall from Tropical Storm Jerry continues to soak the island, affecting operations at one of the nation’s most critical facilities.

According to reports, water poured through the roof of the MET Office Friday morning, flooding workspaces and compromising some of the equipment used to monitor weather patterns and support airport operations.

Staff on duty reportedly made several attempts to contain the water, but the persistent downpour offered little relief.

The flooding comes as the island remains under a flash flood advisory, with widespread water accumulation across multiple communities.

The MET Office plays a vital role in tracking storms and providing real-time updates to the public and aviation authorities.

Officials continue to urge the public to remain cautious and to monitor updates through official channels as weather conditions remain unstable.
