A domestic altercation in Belmont on Friday evening ended in bloodshed when a man was stabbed in the groin and rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery.
Police say the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on October 10, 2025, after an argument between two former partners reportedly turned violent inside their home.
Emergency 911 received a call from a woman who admitted to stabbing her ex-boyfriend during the confrontation. Officers responding to the scene discovered traces of blood across the living room and hallway, along with a knife and a black shirt believed to be connected to the incident.
The injured man was transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where doctors confirmed he underwent surgery for a wound to the left groin. He remains in stable condition.
Senior investigators and forensic officers processed the scene as inquiries continue. Police have not yet released formal charges, but have confirmed that domestic violence remains an ongoing concern.
Authorities are again urging anyone in troubled relationships to seek assistance before conflicts escalate to violence.
