Thief Breaks into Baptist Academy, Steals Power Washer

Police are investigating a break-in at the Baptist Academy of Antigua after an intruder reportedly entered the school’s compound in the early hours of Wednesday, October 9, 2025, and made off with a power washer valued at $1,500 EC.

According to reports, a school representative was alerted around 1:19 a.m. by the academy’s security alarm system, which detected movement on the property located at Radio Range. The matter was immediately reported to Police Headquarters, and officers were dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, investigators found that a tool shed on the southern side of the compound had been tampered with. The intruder is believed to have opened an unsecured door, reached inside, and removed the power washer before fleeing the area.

CCTV footage from the school’s security cameras captured suspicious movements during the time of the incident. A search was conducted in the surrounding area, but the stolen item was not recovered.

Officers processed the scene, while detectives from the Criminal Investigations Department continue to pursue leads.
