Significant infrastructure work is underway in Barbuda as the Government continues to strengthen local governance and public services on the sister isle.
The renovated Barbuda Council Administrative Building now stands as a modern hub for community administration, equipped to better serve residents. The project was funded through a USD 31 million loan from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and additional Government investment covering repairs, upgrades, and furnishing.

Officials say the facility will improve service delivery and provide the Barbuda Council with the tools to meet the needs of the island’s growing population.
The initiative forms part of a wider development programme that includes several completed and ongoing projects: the rehabilitation of the Community Centre (now fitted for use as an emergency shelter), the construction of the NODS Operations Centre, and a Community Multipurpose Centre/Emergency Shelter currently being built.
Road improvement works are also progressing, with new concrete roads being laid to improve connectivity, strengthen resilience, and support Barbuda’s economic growth.

According to officials, these projects reflect the Government’s continued commitment to modern infrastructure and better public services for the people of Barbuda.

Aint nothing major about this.
Barbuda deserves this attention. Modern infrastructure will improve quality of life for everyone.
They want better this and better that but they keep crying down the government
It’s about time! The island deserves better roads, drainage, and utilities.
