Man charged for fraud takes government to court over unpaid vehicle sale

A former car sales representative at Hadeed Motors, has taken legal action against the Government of Antigua and Barbuda, claiming that he is still owed money for two vehicles he sold to the state several years ago.

The man, identified as Dylan Simon, alleges that despite repeated attempts to collect payment, government officials have failed to settle the outstanding balance, prompting him to file a lawsuit seeking compensation.

According to information obtained, the vehicles; a Nissan X-Trail and a pickup truck; were sold while Simon was employed at Hadeed Motors sector. The combined value of the two vehicles is said to be approximately $135,000.

Simon reportedly made multiple visits to the Treasury Department in an effort to receive payment but was continually told to return on different occasions, with no resolution. After months of waiting, he decided to pursue legal recourse.

The case, which was officially filed in November 2022, has faced several delays but is now scheduled to come before a High Court judge today.

Simon who was charged in relation to an incident of fraud at Hadeed Motors is being represented by attorney-at-law Warren Cassell.

  7. Antigua is currently a comedy, wonder if this one is from Tyler Perry Studios. Everybody is trying to get even in the middle of a government “skin out” according to incarcerated mongoose. Guess many people has to appear before the court and the prison gates. Speaking of Baba. Where is he in the mess? Oh I forgot, he’s out of state! Shine the light on the government, they know who they placed to do their dirty work. This one is just a failed operation

  12. So did Adolf 2.0 pardon the woman’s involvement in the bobol because she was forthcoming? Seems to me like they’re all building castles with poor people money and have the same poor people picketing for a meager Social security payout. When will the citizenry stop fawning over the corrupt for scraps while they live like kings? We want justice. We want our money back in the accounts and we want the vehicles seized and auctioned. Adolf 2.0 won’t though, because loved ones are implicated.
