Three females are now the finalists of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) Logo competition.
The contest was launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Sports and Creative Industries on September 15where 141 entries were submitted.
That was then dropped to 8 and finally three by the committee.
It was open exclusively to nationals of Antigua and Barbuda, whether residing locally or in the diaspora. Each entry also had to submit a 100 to 150-word concept statement outlining the inspiration and symbolism behind the design.
Submissions were judged on creativity and originality (30%), relevance to CHOGM 2026 and Commonwealth values (30%), visual impact and versatility (20%), and technical quality and adaptability (20%).
The winner will be announced on November 4 at CHOGM Launch at the Sandals Grande Resort.
“At that launch, the Prime Minister will give remarks. The Commonwealth Secretary General will also be in attendance and will give remarks, along with Antigua’s Foreign Minister, the Honourable E.P. Chet Greene and as a matter of note, three females are in the running for the top position to be selected as the contributor of the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting logo,” Maurice Merchant said.
The winning design will feature prominently on all event communications, signage, merchandise, and digital platforms, symbolizing Antigua and Barbuda’s role as host nation.
The grand prize winner will receive EC$5,000 along with official recognition during CHOGM 2026, and their design will be adopted as the official global logo for the event.
