A joint drug interdiction operation at the V.C. Bird International Airport Cargo Shed on Wednesday afternoon led to the seizure of a significant quantity of cannabis, valued at more than $222,000.
According to police reports, the operation was conducted around 2:15 p.m. on October 22, 2025, by officers from the Narcotics Department and the K-9 Unit.
The team worked in collaboration with Customs Enforcement officers as part of ongoing efforts to curb the trafficking of illegal drugs through the country’s ports of entry.
During the search, two brown cardboard boxes were examined and found to contain thirty-seven vacuum-sealed packages filled with a green, bushy substance resembling cannabis. The suspected drugs, weighing approximately 37 pounds, were seized along with the boxes.
A woman was detained and taken to Police Headquarters for further investigation.
Police estimate the street value of the seized drugs at $222,000. The matter is now under active investigation.

Where are the criminals and murderers that a blind eye turned to the back of the head, one thing in customs and antigua police they find weed instantly put that same energy in crimes we know you can’t part that up, lady was gathering her 250,000 to get a farm like GASTON come JESUS come.
I was once told my granny. If you have nothing sensible to say keep my mouth shut. You should follow this advice
It’s shocking, but sadly not surprising. Smuggling attempts happen more often than we hear.
Somebody sell out, they sp accustom with passing with it they careless now, free up on the herb. The officers and all smoking too
More than that pass already, somebody talk for sure and i know somebody crying about their shipment that can cause a death or worse
If K-9 alerts led to the search, the warrant basis and documentation must be clear to withstand court scrutiny.
With global shifts on cannabis, is it time to revisit our laws for medical/regulated frameworks while crushing illegal trade?
Politics aside, we need quarterly public reports on seizures and case outcomes. Transparency builds trust.
There goes somebody Christmas money
Great teamwork by Narcotics, K-9, and Customs. Keep the pressure on the traffickers.
CHUPS! I’d be more impressed if the robbers and murderers were being arrested as often.
