Governor-General Sir Rodney Williams joined members of Antigua and Barbuda’s Indian community on Saturday night for the 2025 Diwali Festival, held at the Sir John E. St. Luce Financial Centre and hosted by Honorary Consul Vijay Tewani.

The event, attended by members of the Diplomatic Corps and friends of India, celebrated the festival’s message of light triumphing over darkness. Sir Rodney praised the Consul’s efforts to deepen ties between Antigua and Barbuda and India, highlighting India’s ongoing support in areas such as education, health, technology, investment, and post-disaster relief.

Reflecting on past visits to India, Sir Rodney described the nation as a symbol of “cultural richness and global goodwill.”

The evening featured cultural performances, traditional dress, Indian cuisine, and the lighting of lamps — a gesture of unity, hope, and friendship.
