The Development Control Authority (DCA) has issued a public clarification regarding recent social media posts showing the installation of a fence along the southern section of the Dickenson Bay coastline near Corbinson Point.
According to a statement from Glenville Dixon Jr., Public Relations Officer at the DCA, the structure is not a permanent barrier, but rather a temporary safety fence installed to protect the public during ongoing coastal defence works in the area.
The DCA explained that several truckloads of large boulders are currently being placed as part of shoreline stabilization efforts, and the fence serves as an essential safety measure to prevent accidents and injuries while heavy equipment and construction activity continue along the beach.
“This measure is temporary and approved to ensure public safety during the coastal works,” the DCA statement read. “The fence acts as a barrier to keep the public away from active work zones and unstable areas.”
The authority assured residents and beachgoers that access to the area will be fully restored once the coastal works are safely completed.
The DCA also appealed to members of the public and the media to share accurate information to prevent misinformation and ensure community safety during the project’s execution.
For further details, the DCA has made available a full Public Notice outlining the scope and safety provisions of the Dickenson Bay coastal defence project.

So the DCA don’t know how to proactive?
Rather than been reactive, why didn’t they put out a “Public Notice. Announcement” before to inform the general public before the social media posts?
So now you know why you still upset
You sound dunce nf
Hmmmm let’s see how long the erected fence lasts
When the DCA comes and explain its because they feel bad about what they did
“Clarifies” usually means “trying to save face.” Why fence off public space in the first place?
Im sure it has to do with some white person they are trying to give foot on locals
Glad they explained it. People were definitely starting to wonder what was going on at Dickenson Bay.
