A man who spent more than three years charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger a woman, has had his case dismissed.
On October 29, 2025, prosecutors dropped all charges against Damion Ian Maragh, bringing criminal proceedings against him to a close.
For more than three years, Maragh lived under the shadow of these accusations, spending six weeks detained at Her Majesty’s Prison.
Andrew O’Kola, Maragh’s defense counsel, released the following statement after the court ruling:
“Mr. Maragh consistently asserted he was not guilty. No proof ever demonstrated he had control of or employed any weapon. Though the three years of instability and restricted freedom cannot be recovered, we welcome the appropriate resolution of this case.”
OMO Law Chambers praised the Director of Public Prosecutions‘ office for conducting a thorough reassessment of the case and aligning its actions with the principles of justice.

Three years of uncertainty is tough. The system needs to move faster on cases like this.
hahahaha so now O’kola praising the DPP office after their public back and forth? Guess justice has been served then
Three years of stress, and in the end no evidence? That’s rough. The system really needs to move faster people’s lives are on hold while justice drags its feet
If the case couldn’t hold up after three years, it means something went wrong , either weak evidence or poor investigation. We need better systems, not dragged-out trials.
Glad to see justice finally done, but it shouldn’t take this long to clear an innocent man’s name
