Foreign Affairs Minister E.P. Chet Greene has reaffirmed Antigua and Barbuda’s commitment to inclusive growth, climate resilience, and human dignity during his address at the Second World Summit for Social Development in Doha, Qatar.
Minister Greene urged renewed global solidarity to tackle poverty, inequality, and the climate crisis. He emphasized that national action alone cannot counter global challenges, pointing to the Antigua and Barbuda Agenda for SIDS (ABAS) as a roadmap for equitable partnerships based on justice, not charity.
Greene called on developed nations to honour their aid commitments and to reform financing criteria by recognizing the vulnerability of small states rather than relying on outdated GDP metrics.

Calls upon calls upon calls. Are we making any progress?
Another summit, another call for justice. Maybe one day the big nations will actually listen.
