
Antigua and Barbuda flexed their strength and pride on Saturday night, dominating the Clash of the Caribbean Arm Wrestling Series held at The People’s Place in St. John’s.
The home team delivered an outstanding performance, winning seven of the ten best-of-five contests against their Trinidadian rivals, sending the local crowd into a frenzy of patriotic cheers.
Among the standout performers was Omarion Boyle, who set the tone early with a decisive 3–0 left-arm victory over Trinidad’s Vincent Gosine. Fellow Antiguan Omarie Laird followed with another clean sweep, overpowering Shaun Outar 3–0 in a right-arm contest.
The winning momentum continued as Nivron Browne defeated Martin Hamilton 3–0, while Nickson Grove made light work of Luke Gosine with a similar 3–0 triumph. Daniel Antonio then stormed to victory, beating Victor Albert 3–0 in the penultimate bout of the night.
The evening concluded in style when Joshua Rabess sealed Antigua’s dominance with a commanding 3–0 left-arm win over Tyler Gibson of Trinidad.
Despite the Antiguan sweep, Trinidad managed to secure three victories. Muhammad Ibrahim opened the night with a 3–0 win over Nathaniel Cottam, Navardo Wallace-Gill edged out Antiguan Jerell Jules 3–2, and Jesiah Bartholomew earned a 3–0 victory over Kayce Simmons.
The event not only showcased regional rivalry but also highlighted Antigua and Barbuda’s growing reputation as a powerhouse in Caribbean arm wrestling , proving that when it comes to strength and determination, the home crowd stands tall.
