Police Investigate Church Burglary in Cooks Hill

Police have launched an investigation into a break-in at the Church of God of Prophecy in Cooks Hill, after thieves reportedly made off with several valuable items over the weekend.

According to reports, the incident occurred sometime between 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, and 9:20 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025. When members arrived at the church, they discovered that the building had been broken into and a 50-inch Samsung flat-screen television, along with several air conditioning units, had been stolen.

Investigators from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) are now pursuing leads to identify and apprehend those responsible.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the Cooks Hill area during that time, or who has information that could assist the investigation, to contact the CID at 462-3913, the Grays Farm Police Station at 462-0481, or call Crimestoppers anonymously at 800-TIPS (8477).
