Cades Bay Woman Assaulted After Alleged Break-In by Ex-Boyfriend

Police have launched an investigation into a disturbing home invasion and assault at Cades Bay on Thursday night, in which a 49-year-old woman was reportedly attacked by her ex-boyfriend.

According to reports, the incident took place around 10 p.m. on Thursday 6th November, 2025, when the woman, who was at home with a female friend, was awakened by her former partner after he allegedly broke into the house.

Reports indicate that the suspect dragged the woman from her bed, slammed her into a wall, and began physically assaulting her.

The woman’s friend, who was also in the bedroom, reportedly intervened, resulting in a brief struggle between her and the intruder.

Police officers who responded to the scene observed signs of forced entry through a living room window, which appeared to have been pried open. Both women were issued medical examination forms and advised to seek treatment for their injuries.

Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the suspect is in custody, but the investigation remains ongoing.
