The Medical Association of Antigua and Barbuda (MAAB) has expressed deep sorrow following the passing of Nurse Orjille Williams-Joseph, describing her as a beloved member of the nation’s healthcare community whose warmth and professionalism touched many lives.
In an official statement, the Association extended heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and colleagues, noting that while she was not formally active in MAAB’s activities, she was well known to many of its members, especially those who had the privilege of working alongside her at the hospital.
Nurse Orjille was remembered as a compassionate caregiver whose gentle spirit and sense of humor brought light to even the most challenging days on the ward. “She was known for always carrying a smile — often paired with a joke — and for her calm, grounded presence even in moments of clinical chaos,” the statement read.
Her steady hands, kindness, and quiet strength left an enduring mark on generations of physicians and nurses who worked with her over the years.
The Association said her loss is “deeply felt within the wider healthcare community,” and joined with others in remembering her “with gratitude and respect.”
“May she rest in peace,” the tribute concluded.
