A 37-year-old Green Bay resident is facing serious charges after police allegedly found a firearm and ammunition during a stop-and-search operation in the community early Friday morning.
Jamala Joseph of #3 George Street was arrested and later charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition, following an interception by officers attached to the Grays Farm Police Station.
According to police, the incident unfolded around 1:00 a.m. on November 14, when officers responded to a report in the Green Bay area and stopped a vehicle along George Street. A search of the vehicle reportedly uncovered a .25 Beretta pistol along with two rounds of .25 ammunition.
Joseph was taken into custody on the scene and subsequently charged.
The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda says it remains steadfast in its efforts to clamp down on illegal weapons across the country, noting that the removal of unlicensed firearms is critical to maintaining public safety.

Good. We need to tighten our gun possession laws… No bail
Any illegal firearm taken off the streets is one less potential tragedy
It’s worrying how many unlicensed guns are circulating, but at least this one is now secured.
