Man Charged in Ottos Comprehensive School Break-in

A Villa resident is now facing criminal charges after police linked him to a break-in at Ottos Comprehensive School earlier this week that resulted in stolen classroom supplies and property damage.

Authorities arrested the suspect in the early hours of Wednesday morning, November 12th, shortly after responding to reports of an intruder on the school compound around 3:45am.

According to reports, the burglar gained entry by smashing a window before making off with various items including classroom materials and personal products.

Officers conducting a search of the surrounding area spotted the Villa man carrying a bag containing items suspected to have come from the school. He was immediately taken into custody.

The suspect has been formally charged with building break-in and larceny, as well as malicious damage.

  2. Shoplifting may look small, but it hurts small supermarkets that already operate on tight margins. Hopefully this serves as a reminder that there are legal and community support options for people who are struggling.

  5. Break-ins at schools hit differently, these spaces are meant to protect and empower young people. It’s sad to see them violated.

  6. At least they recovered the items. Teachers and students shouldn’t have to pay for somebody else foolishness
