Police Probing Three Weekend Wounding Incidents

Police are investigating three separate wounding incidents that occurred across the weekend, leaving multiple men injured in unrelated attacks.

The first report came on Saturday when a Barbudan man told officers he was struck in the head with a glass bottle during an altercation. His injury was assessed as non-life-threatening, and detectives have since launched an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the attack.

Early Sunday morning, around 12:20 a.m., police were called to St. George Street following another report of a violent assault. A Grays Farm man was transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre with a head wound believed to have been caused by a cutlass.

According to the victim, he was ambushed by four unidentified men who escaped on foot heading north. He remains hospitalized as medical personnel continue his treatment.

A third wounding occurred roughly two hours later, around 2:00 a.m., on Parliament Street. Another Grays Farm resident reported being hit in the forehead by an unknown assailant wielding what appeared to be a firearm. He received medical attention for the injury and has since been discharged.

Police say all three matters are active investigations, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Criminal Investigations Department.
