A government worker is now behind bars after confessing to weapons charges.
Sedeki Akelo Andre, who works at the Civil Registry and resides in Gambles, stood before Senior Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel on Tuesday with lawyer Wayne Marsh at his side and admitted guilt on two counts: illegal possession of a 9mm Taurus handgun and seven live rounds of matching ammunition.
His sentencing is set for Thursday, when the magistrate will decide his fate.
The November 16 incident at a Gentleman’s Club unfolded when an on-duty officer’s trained eye spotted something amiss. Andre was walking into the venue when the lawman noticed a conspicuous protrusion at his midsection that raised immediate red flags.
The officer moved to investigate and asked Andre for consent to conduct a search. Instead of compliance, Andre offered resistance both verbally and physically.
When the officer moved to detain him anyway, Andre swatted the lawman’s hands away, triggering a physical confrontation. A security guard working at the establishment spotted the scuffle and intervened to help subdue Andre.

See you in two years, Mr. Andre. Hope you lived alone and had no dependents – parents, siblings, children. In that way you could be incarcerated without inconvenience to anyone. Use the time for sober reflection. Walking into a “Gentleman’s Club” with a gun tucked into your waist??? Johnny, you too bad…🎶🎵🎶🎵

He was simply trying to protect himself. These days you cannot not have a gun.
There must have been a good reason for mr having his gun. I know him and he is a good person
I guess he knew he had a gun, so he started to move nervous when police approached.
Disappointing to hear, but accountability is key.
