Parliamentary Representative for St John’s Rural West, Richard Lewis, has described Thursday’s Throne Speech as a repetition of previous years, rather than a forward-looking presentation addressing the country’s most pressing issues.
Speaking to ABS following the delivery by Governor General Sir Rodney Williams, Lewis said the speech “felt more like a recap” of earlier Throne Speeches and failed to outline the government’s actual performance over the past year.
According to the MP, the administration did not use the opportunity to give the public a clear account of its achievements or shortcomings during the 2024–2025 period. Instead, he said, the address was filled with broad statements and political themes.
Lewis noted that the Opposition Leader, Jamale Pringle, was unavoidably absent as he is currently out of state, but stressed that the concerns raised are consistent with the Opposition’s long-standing call for transparency.
“I don’t think it was much different from previous years. Justice wasn’t given to 2004-2014 because there was significant progress during that period, but that’s the politics of it,” he said.

What else do you expect this clown to say? As a matter of fact his response is itself a carbon copy of his response to last year’s Throne and Budget presentations respectively. I hope your party puts you out for the next solid waste collection and replaces you with the over-zealous, ambitious ambassador wanna-be, prodigal daughter.
Recap versus roadmap, there’s a difference. People want results, not just a summary.
The opposition says the same thing every year
