Government Declares 2025 One of the Most Prosperous Years in Recent History
The Government is reporting that 2025 was one of the best years Antigua and Barbuda has experienced in recent times, citing favorable weather, strong economic growth, and expanding opportunity across sectors.
The Throne Speech highlighted:
- Significant rainfall and no hurricanes
- “Enormous strides” across all sectors
- Increased wealth across income groups
- The revival of LIAT via expanded routes
- Air Peace flights linking Africa to Antigua
- CIP revenue now contributing more than 10% of GDP
Government also said Customs integrity breaches are being addressed through a restitution process that it believes is more effective than naming and shaming offenders.
The nation, the Governor-General said, is “building and moving forward unabated” toward a prosperous 2026.
