The Ministry of Works’ Project Implementation Management Unit (PIMU) is advising motorists that single-lane traffic will continue along several major roadways as critical infrastructure upgrades advance across the island.
According to the ministry, ongoing works on Valley Road North, Sir Sydney Walling Highway, and Old Parham Road will require controlled traffic flow daily from 8:00 a.m. as crews carry out essential improvements.
On Valley Road North, teams will be engaged in drainage works near Golden Grove Primary, concrete works near The Bible Speaks SDA Church (Creekside), and asphalt paving in the Jennings Clinic area.
Along Sir Sydney Walling Highway, asphalt and junction repairs, guardrail installation, and concrete works will continue progressing westwards from Willikies, also beginning around 8:00 a.m. each day.
Meanwhile, on Old Parham Road, shoulder repairs are set to commence during the same hours.
Flag personnel will be on-site to guide traffic, and drivers are urged to proceed with caution, as heavy-duty equipment will be operating close to the active work zones. The ministry also confirmed that all businesses along the affected routes remain open.
Contractor C.O. Williams Ltd. has issued an apology for any inconvenience caused, noting that the works form part of the Government of Antigua and Barbuda’s Second Road Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project.
Residents and commuters are encouraged to adjust their travel schedules to accommodate potential delays as the upgrades continue.

This is causing a lot of traffic and we are at the worse time of year for that. These should probably be done at night.
When they coming to All saints Road?
Plan ahead, everyone—delays are unavoidable with single-lane traffic. Better safe than sorry.
