The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle campaign is already picking up pace.
So far, $54,564.28 has been collected—still a long way from the $175,000 goal.
Launched earlier this month, the Christmas Kettle drive aims to raise $175,000 to provide critical support to vulnerable families across the twin-island nation during the holiday season and beyond.
It’s the organization’s largest fundraising event, helping to fund several community outreach programs, including the distribution of food packages.
This year, The Salvation Army plans to distribute 1,000 food parcels during the Christmas season, with plans to extend assistance to the sister island of Barbuda.
The organization’s year-round programs include a Meals on Wheels initiative, emergency assistance for fire victims, youth councils, women’s ministries, and computer literacy classes.
Christmas kettles have been placed at locations across Antigua, including Epicurean Fine Foods and Pharmacy at both Woods Centre and Jolly Harbour, Perry Bay Supermarket, First Choice Supermarket, the General Post Office, and other participating businesses.
During the launch of this year’s Christmas Kettle drive, The Salvation Army also shared plans to collect funds on November 15, all of which would go to relief efforts in Jamaica.
Major Raymoncil Pierre gave an update:
“We are pleased to announce that we have collected approximately $6,310. We are in the process of packing a 40-foot container, which we want to leave Antigua on the 10th, or by the 10th of December, to reach Jamaica,” Pierre said.
Many regional and international entities have been assisting efforts in Jamaica after the major destruction caused by the passage of Hurricane Melissa.

My only issue is how they harrass you outide Perry Bay and Bargin Center….Ringing that bell in your face
$175,000 might be a stretch in this economy… but we are rooting for them.
I hope every business with a kettle encourages customers to give something, even if it’s just $1.
I’m glad to see Barbuda included. They need the support too.
The $175,000 goal is ambitious, but with community spirit and generosity, it’s achievable.
Salvation Army always there for the vulnerable. I hope folks dig deep this year.
Cost of living mash up everybody. The fact they reach $54k already shows people still have heart
I am confident they will collect more than their target as they have been doing in the past
