Antigua and Barbuda joined global UN80 celebrations on Friday with the unveiling of a vibrant Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) mural along Independence Avenue, just outside the Antigua Recreation Grounds.

The artwork, created in partnership with the UN Barbados and Eastern Caribbean office, was produced through a collaborative effort involving the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, local youth, persons with disabilities, and civil society groups. Inspired by the theme “Building Our Future Together – Everyone Counts,” the mural captures key elements of the SDGs and emphasizes national commitment to inclusion and sustainable development.

Government officials, UN representatives, and community members attended the ceremony, which highlighted Antigua and Barbuda’s ongoing work toward the 2030 Agenda.

Officials noted that the mural stands as a colourful public reminder that sustainable progress requires the participation of all citizens.
