A determined group of protesters returned to Police Headquarters on Friday, intensifying their calls for justice in the killing of 18-year-old Kahleel Simon, who was shot dead in Bolans on August 27th, the day he celebrated his birthday.
Relatives, friends, and supporters stood outside the building holding placards and chanting for accountability. His mother, joined by other grieving family members, said they are tired of waiting and refuse to let the case “fade into silence.”

The group expressed frustration with what they view as slow movement in the investigation, insisting that continued public pressure is the only way to keep Kahleel’s death on the national agenda.
Simon’s killing has ignited deep anger in Bolans and the surrounding areas, becoming a rallying point for residents who say they are tired of young men dying under violent and controversial circumstances.
Acting Police Commissioner Everton Jeffers confirmed that investigators are still collecting evidence and witness statements. He noted that the autopsy had been completed, but offered no new details on the direction of the case or whether anyone would be held responsible.
Simon’s relatives have been unwavering in their belief that the force used was disproportionate and unjustifiable. They contend that the officer involved never gave the teenager a real chance to comply before opening fire.
Friday’s picket is the latest in a series of demonstrations that have taken place since August.
Organisers say they plan to return as often as necessary until there is clarity, accountability, and justice.

These people are resilient and I love it
Alas that there hard! Keep up the fight! I understand rhis is ur son and a mother’s love for her children is something many cannot understand..
Justice must be served, that cannot pass so
Let the investigation finish. We can’t jump to conclusions until all the facts are out.
We young people just want to feel safe. Not feel like our lives don’t matter.
