The Ministry of Tourism is moving swiftly to tighten security across some of Antigua and Barbuda’s busiest beaches, after a recent string of robberies left visitors shaken and raised concerns within the tourism sector.
With the high season now underway, officials say they’re taking no chances—deploying specially trained constables and installing new surveillance systems to safeguard the country’s most valuable industry.

Comment *We need cameras all over not just on the beaches
Do these officers have the right to use force also? Because these thieves doh easy
Let’s hope enforcement is consistent, visitors and locals alike deserve secure public spaces
Hope it really deters the criminals
In other countries there’s high police presence
This is the only protection we can provide as a country whose main industry is tourism? Let’s be more open here case this is hilarious. Is there even enough police for this?
People talk anout crime in a country as if its antigua alone. Antiguas crime rate is very low compared to other countries
Ammmmm so they can only be deployed during tourist season? Locals dont need safeguarding too?
