PM Browne Calls on Global South to ‘Stand Tall’ and Lead Push for Fairer World Order

Antigua and Barbuda’s Prime Minister has issued one of his strongest appeals yet for unified action among developing countries, urging the Global South to “exercise big voices and strong positions.”

Speaking at Medays 2025 in Morocco, Browne said the global south bears the brunt of instability, conflict, inequality and climate damage, and must therefore drive the fight for reform.

“The stakes are too high for silence,” he said. “We cannot afford a world defined by might over right.”

Browne argued that developing states have shown they can lead—from climate litigation to regional integration—and must now push for fairer trade systems, climate justice, and inclusive governance.

“We owe it to future generations,” he said. “We must insist that the global balance we seek is not only geopolitical, but a moral and human imperative.”
