The Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) St. John’s Rural West Branch brought together more than 60 of its longest-serving supporters this week for a special appreciation luncheon celebrating their years of commitment to the constituency.
The event, described as warm and community-focused, paid tribute to the “pillars” of St. John’s Rural West—individuals whose dedication, loyalty, and volunteerism have helped strengthen the branch’s operations and contributed to the area’s development over the years.

Branch leaders said the luncheon forms part of an ongoing effort to recognise those who have “paved the way,” stressing that it is important for the constituency to honour residents who have consistently stood by and supported its initiatives.
Community member Carol Bird, one of the attendees, welcomed the gesture and praised the branch for acknowledging its supporters.
“It was a very good gesture—strong team and very strong and dedicated supporters,” Bird said. “I am really thankful I came.”

Organisers noted that activities like this not only celebrate past contributions but also serve to reinforce unity and deepen community bonds as the branch continues its work across St. John’s Rural West.

Great initiative. people love to feel appreciated
Recognition doesn’t require grand gestures simply showing gratitude can go a long way in bringing a community together.
