PM: Reclassification to Bring Further Salary Upgrades by July 2026

Prime Minister Gaston Browne says public servants to receive salary increases

Beyond the additional back pay due this month, public servants can expect higher salaries through the national reclassification exercise, which is now being accelerated.

Prime Minister Browne said his administration is determined to modernise the public sector and prevent future wage arrears.

“Civil servants will also benefit from a further upgrade in pay, as a result of the reclassification that will be completed by July 2026.”

He noted that one of the biggest problems over the years has been outdated negotiations and slow-moving agreements.

To correct this, the wage-negotiation process is being overhauled.

“We are restructuring the entire wage-negotiation process… so that new salary increases take effect by July 2026. No drift, no excuses, a modern public service deserves modern collective bargaining.”
