Glasford “King Osagifu” Mack, a prominent Rastafari elder and medicinal cannabis advocate, will be laid to rest today following a funeral service at Keithley Sheppard Park, formerly known as King George V Grounds, beginning at 11 am.

Tributes continue to pour in for Mack, who passed away in late October 2025 after battling stage four cancer. The lifelong advocate was nationally recognized for his efforts that led to some Rastafarian groups being granted sacramental authorization to grow cannabis for religious use.

As a founding member of the Grow Antigua initiative and an elder of the Nyahbingi tribe, Mack dedicated his life to advancing the rights of the Rastafarian community and promoting medicinal cannabis.

Beyond his cannabis advocacy, Mack was deeply involved in community initiatives. He participated in high-level discussions with Prime Minister Gaston Browne regarding the Rastafarian community’s views on the COVID-19 vaccine and played a crucial role in gang intervention programs.

His peace-building efforts included attending meetings with the Prime Minister and gang members, such as the 2Drilly crew, to encourage positive development and promote peace in the community.

Education Minister Daryll S. Matthew paid tribute to the fallen elder, remembering him as “driven, motivated, fearless, and loyal.”

  1. Growing up I always heard from several Rasta people that marijuana prevents people from getting cancer and any sickness. Finally, it was all a lied because they want to influence people to smoke the stinky hit. I always believe that marijuana is better use to make tea—like bush tea, not to smoke .
