Several winners were named and awarded on Saturday night as the Community Development and Citizens Engagement Division within the Ministry of Social Transformation hosted its 14th award ceremony for the Community Home and Garden Festival at the American University of Antigua (AUA).
This 2025 competition had over eighty participants but due to the inclement weather conditions that number dwindled to sixty who competed in six different categories.

Best Kept Community went to Fitches Creek edging out Five Islands.
Irene Edwards was the overall residential herbs and spices winner. Henry Harris was second and Joy Meade, third while best overall Fruits & Vegetables Residential winner was Rhyves & Nia Knowles.
Birchfield Osbourne was the runner up and Annette Richards third place-finisher.
In the business categories, Indies Green won the award for the best flower and water garden. Silva Buttons was second for the flower garden section.
Lions Club Community Garden earned the award of best herbs and spices.
Moving on to the residential Stone & Ornamental award Carol Lewis was victorious edging out Irene Edwards and Birchfield Osbourne.

Meanwhile, Rhyves & Nia Knowles earned a $700.00 cash prize for the best residential flower garden.
They also earned another $700 for the best overall water garden.
