Colin R. Maynard has been officially reappointed as a Member of the Industrial Court following a brief swearing-in ceremony at Government House on Thursday morning.
The Oath of Office was administered by Governor-General His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams, GCMG, KCN, who highlighted the critical role of the Industrial Court in maintaining fairness in labour and employment relations across the country. Sir Rodney noted that the Court plays a central role in promoting industrial harmony, social stability, and public confidence in the rule of law.
The Governor-General also acknowledged the leadership of President of the Industrial Court, Her Honour Mrs. Samantha May-Francis, and commended the members and staff of the Court for their continued dedication and service.
Sir Rodney said Mr. Maynard’s reappointment reflects the confidence placed in his abilities and the depth of experience he brings to the Court. He pointed to Mr. Maynard’s long career in banking and financial services, particularly his years at Antigua Commercial Bank, where he was entrusted with responsibilities requiring discretion, sound judgment, and strict adherence to regulatory standards.
In addition to his professional background, Mr. Maynard’s commitment to community service was also recognised. He currently serves as Secretary of Caribbee Lodge No. 2829 EC, an organisation known for upholding strong ethical values and service to the community.

By renewing the Oaths of Office and Secrecy, Mr. Maynard reaffirmed his commitment to serve with independence, integrity, and impartiality, pledging to discharge his duties without fear or favour, affection or ill-will, and with the highest level of confidentiality.
The ceremony concluded with the formal signing of the Books of Oaths.
