PLH shares plans for training investments and marines reserve project according to Maurice Merchant
The Peace Love and Happiness (PLH) project is moving ahead with efforts to support Antigua and Barbuda’s development, offering updates on the Barbuda Ocean Club project and outlining new investments in training for local trades and skills affiliates.
People enrolled in the job program connected to the Antigua and Barbuda Institute of Continuing Studies – also known as the Harrison Center – will be able to finish their training on Barbuda. PLH also shared a broad timeline for when this training will begin.
“As mentioned, they will be back in the new year with some details and the Ministry of Education will also present a proposal to PLH. They have agreed in principle to have the young men and women,” Cabinet Spokesperson Maurice Merchant stated.
Cabinet was additionally informed of PLH’s proposal for a marine reserve at Cocobay, an important site for turtles and kite surfing.
The plan includes a turtle monitoring program funded by PLH, mooring bays designed to prevent anchoring damage, and governance arrangements to be set by the Government of Antigua and Barbuda.
PLH also proposed a non‑profit recycling facility with representation from the Government, PLH, and the Barbuda Council.

Any support that strengthens skills, training, and long-term employment is worth paying attention to.
