Government Responds to “Big Gutter” Concerns with Urgent Repair Plan

Officials from the Ministry of Works confirmed that immediate interventions are underway to restore the site and ensure public safety. Director of Works, Mr. Collis King, conducted a site inspection earlier this week to evaluate the current condition and determine the extent of repairs necessary.

Initial assessments indicate that all compromised concrete slabs will be removed and entirely replaced. Cleanup and preparatory work have already commenced and are expected to continue over the coming days as the project progresses.

The Ministry emphasized that collaboration with the public remains vital in identifying issues across the island. Residents were thanked for raising the concerns constructively, enabling a timely response and targeted solutions.

    • Big gutter there so long. Now you fund to fix it?

  2. Antigua( public works specifically)needs to do better. Nothing but word of God lasts forever so if something is built inspecting and maintaining it is a must. Don’t wait for it to pose a hazard to say you’re doing something. Residents don’t be afraid to make noise when you see something that needs to be fixed. Sound the alarm because a closed mouth doesn’t get fed.
