Antigua and Barbuda experienced another unusually cold night, with minimum temperatures ranging from 14°C to 23°C (57°F to 73°F) across the country, according to the Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services.
Director of Meteorological Services, Dale C. S. Destin, said while such temperatures are not unheard of, conditions over the past two nights were close to record lows, particularly when compared with long-term data from the V. C. Bird International Airport.

The airport serves as the country’s primary reference point for historical temperature comparisons, as Antigua and Barbuda does not yet have long-term climate records from multiple inland or elevated locations.
Using the airport’s continuous dataset, minimum temperatures of 18.1°C (65°F) recorded on December 27 and 18.8°C (66°F) on December 28 rank as the second coldest on record for those respective dates. The readings place both nights among the coldest December nights ever observed at the facility.
Meteorological officials noted that while the cold spell is not expected to persist, residents particularly the elderly and those in higher, more exposed areas are encouraged to take precautions during cooler overnight conditions.
