Cabinet Reaffirms Zero-Tolerance Policy on Narco-Trafficking and Criminal Activity

Cabinet Meeting of the Antigua and Barbuda government

In response to regional and international media allegations linking Caribbean leaders to narcotics trafficking, the Cabinet issued a firm and unequivocal rejection of any such claims involving Antigua and Barbuda.

The Cabinet reaffirmed the Government’s zero-tolerance policy toward drug trafficking, illegal firearms, and transnational criminal networks, describing these activities as direct threats to national security and social stability.

Cabinet confirmed that individuals identified as engaging in narco-trafficking or related crimes will face the full force of the law, including deportation where applicable, incarceration, and financial penalties upon conviction.

Cabinet also reiterated its confidence in national law enforcement and border agencies, directing them to continue strengthening border protection and intelligence-led operations to maintain Antigua and Barbuda’s low-crime status.

  2. Glad Cabinet addressed it head-on. Antigua can’t afford to be dragged into anyone else’s mess. Zero tolerance must mean zero tolerance for everyone
