Jamale Pringle, Opposition leader and political leader of the UPP has announced that Kelton Dalso will be the party’s candidate for the St. George constituency in the upcoming elections.

Dalso emerged the victor during a primary election in St. George held last night on January 19th.

Mr. Dalso has been active in politics for over 30 years and was the former campaign manager for Mr. Adolphus Freeland, the ABLP stalwart who represented the same constituency from 1976 to 1999.

He last contested elections as a member of the Democratic National Alliance (DNA) party in the 2018 national elections.

Dalso was appointed as the Mobilization Officer for the DNA during its Congress in June 2021 and again planned to contest St. George in the 2023 elections before departing from the party in November 2022.

Regarding this new appointment, OL Pringle says he is confident that Dalso has the energy and commitment needed to not only keep the branch in the UPP column but to move it forward as well.

  1. Dalso needs to change his attitude towards the people in the constituency, how he sees them and stop looking down on them. They are the pillars of St George’s constituency, and the majority of the people are more down-to-earth. Yes, he is from the community of New Winthropes and haven’t lived there for years. He would need to return to his roots by sitting on the block with his people, according to Ezekiel 3:15, to get to know them once again and sit where they sat. Right now, it’s about getting rid of the ABLP administration out of government in the next generation election for good.
