Firefighters responded to a report of a fire at the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) Headquarters on Nugent Avenue on Saturday afternoon.

According to Inspector Bagot of the Fire Department, the St John’s Fire Station received a call at approximately 2:13 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026, indicating that a fire had broken out in the area. Fire tenders No. 17 and No. 19 were immediately dispatched to the scene.

On arrival, fire crews observed several wooden pallets that had been burned but were already extinguished by individuals at the location. As a result, firefighters did not need to deploy any extinguishing equipment.

Officials said the southern wall of the building sustained heat and smoke damage. No injuries were reported during the incident.

The Fire Brigade has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
