Decomposed Body Found in Vehicle Still Unidentified

The police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them as investigations continue into the discovery of a partially decomposed male body found inside a vehicle at the old Ottos School compound, just off All Saints Road, on Monday, February 2.

Police say the report was received via the 911 emergency hotline around midday, and officers from the CID, Serious Crimes Unit, and Forensic Evidence Recovery Unit responded and cordoned off the area, which is used as a panyard.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Frankie Thomas confirmed the discovery but said details remain limited at this stage. He noted that the immediate priority is identifying the deceased and urged relatives who may be missing a loved one to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or 462-3914, or any police station.

A district medical doctor pronounced the man dead, and investigations are ongoing.

  1. This is extremely disturbing. Someone’s son, brother, or friend was left in a vehicle and discovered like this. I can’t imagine the pain the family will feel when they hear this news.

  2. The emotional weight of this is heavy. To be found in a decomposed state suggests time passed, and that alone raises so many questions. We cannot become numb to stories like this. This was a human being who deserved dignity, answers, and peace.

  4. Finding a decomposed body in a place people pass every day is alarming. It makes you wonder what really happened and how many people might have seen something and stayed silent.

  7. Nothing in Antigua is alarming right now. I put my ears to the ground everything is a possibility in Antigua. Not saying that I am happy for the things that are happening not condoling them. But the realities are what they are no need for us to behave all Santimonal and surprise when we have eyes to see and ears to hear, what has been happening. A lot of times person may come to us and ask for food or money to buy food, we refuse to give saying they need to go and look work, you may be driving and somebody ask for a ride and you refuse to give them a ride because they did not help you buy your vehicle that’s same that same person maybe going to something and just want a ride to, go somewhere to sit and cool for a while and frustration hit them and the rest is history, but here we are playing all holy. We are all guilty of what is happening in this country. We neglect people in so many different ways that sometimes we contribute to their downfall and don’t even realize it. But only when it hit home, we are going to realize the severity of what another person had gone through when we were in a position to help in small tiny ways but we refuse may God help us all.
