Water tanker being utilized for water services
The Government has completed the purchase and delivery of two additional water tankers to bolster the operational capacity of the Antigua and Barbuda Fire Service.
The newly acquired tankers, with water storage capacities of 2,000 gallons and 3,500 gallons respectively, will enhance the Fire Service’s ability to respond effectively to emergencies, particularly during major or prolonged fire incidents.
These additions will complement the existing fleet of 19 fire tenders currently in service across the country.
Cabinet welcomed the acquisition, noting that the increased water-carrying capacity is expected to significantly reduce the risk of water shortages during firefighting operations, while improving response times, operational efficiency, and overall public safety.
The Government reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening critical emergency services infrastructure, emphasizing that continued investment in first-responder resources is essential to safeguarding lives and property throughout the nation.

Very good move, especially as we approaching summer which seems to be the height of the fire season
