Lasean Bully, of Cashew Hill; Wayne Thomas, of Hatton; and Saleim Harrigan of Greenbay — were charged with killing Christian.

More than four years after Customs Officer Nigel Christian was shot and killed, the three men accused of his murder will face trial beginning February 18.

The case will be heard before Justice Rajiv Persaud.

Christian’s death in July 2020 sent shockwaves through the community. The 44-year-old high-ranking customs official was taken from his McKinnons home on July 10, 2020, and was later discovered in the Thibou’s area with multiple gunshot wounds.

The investigation led to the arrests of Lasean Bully of Cashew Hill, Wayne Thomas of Hatton, and Saleim Harrigan of Greenbay, who were charged with murder in April 2021.

The path to trial has been lengthy, marked by multiple adjournments in the All Saints Magistrate’s Court before the case was committed to the January 2023 assizes in September 2022. Further delays pushed the arraignment to January 2024, when all three men appeared before Justice Ann-Marie Smith and declared their innocence.
